- Auto-Accidents On the Way To or From Work
If you are a worker that does not always report to the same, singular location, you are covered under workers’ compensation on your way to and from work, even if you were not operating a company vehicle.
On top of being entitled to comp benefits, you may also be entitled to a third party claim against anyone else involved in your accident. Make sure you tell your attorney that your accident took place while operating or while a passenger in a motor vehicle.
- Auto-Accidents During Work Hours
If you suffered an accident while operating or while a passenger in a company vehicle for work purposes you are entitled to comp benefits, however, you may not sue your employer or co-worker (if your co-worker happened to be the one operating the vehicle). However, you may bring a third party action against any other vehicle involved in your accident if the accident was not your fault.
Make sure you tell your attorney that your accident involved a motor-vehicle and whether it involved another, non-employee operated motor-vehicle as well.
- Slip and Fall At Work or Work Parking Lot
If you slipped and fell while at work, in addition to comp benefits, you may have a third party lawsuit against the maintenance company in charge of keeping the premises free of hazards. If your employer does not own the building, or uses another company to clean and maintain the parking lot on which you fell, make sure you tell your attorney so that you can receive the proper advice.
